Volunteering & Fundraising

Volunteering

Volunteer participation is key to our program's success. Therefore, families are required to complete a total of 9 volunteer hours per semester, amounting to 18 volunteer hours per academic year. This involvement not only enriches the athletic experiences of our students but also fosters a sense of community and camaraderie among all stakeholders.

We understand that schedules can be demanding, so we encourage you to plan ahead and allocate your time effectively to fulfill this requirement. Volunteer opportunities will be diverse and accommodating to different skills and availability, ensuring that everyone can contribute in meaningful ways. Each season, we will host several “Regatta 101” orientations to learn some of the unique regatta tasks essential to host events. Please look for emails from our Shore Patrol and Volunteer Coordinators for sign ups.

In cases where the required volunteer hours are not met, a fee of $75 will be assessed for each uncompleted hour. This fee is intended to incentivise volunteerism and not as a replacement for volunteering.

Fundraising

In addition to volunteering, every family has a $400/year fundraising obligation. You can fulfill this obligation through participation in events like our Pancake Breakfast, Ergathon, Parent Social FUNdraiser, and family sponsorships. Funds raised through your family obligation will be combined with other monies raised to provide for the long-term health of our rowing program, including the purchase of new equipment as needed.
