Shore Patrol

Thank you for your interest in helping with Shore Patrol!

As parents, one of the ways we support our athletes is by providing Shore Patrol during practice at the team's Palm River facility. No athlete is allowed on the water unless there is a volunteer on land serving as Shore Patrol.

Shore Patrol duty primarily involves keeping a log of the boats as they leave and return to the dock. You might help catch an oar on the dock as the shells return, but all of the hard work of lifting and rowing is done by the athletes. As the Shore Patrol volunteer, you are the adult on shore who serves as the communication point with the coaches on the water.

Shore Patrol is honestly a great way to spend a couple of hours watching our athletes hone their rowing skills and mature together as a team. It can also be a quiet time to read a book, catch up on your paperwork, make some cell phone calls and yes, even access the internet with the wireless connection available at Palm River.

To volunteer for a Shore Patrol shift, please contact Shore Patrol Coordinator.
